A Free Parent Info Session with Sarah Hawn
March 05 at 4:00 PM
If your are looking to support your child in their transition to daycare, preschool, or kindergarten and you’ve started wondering:
- Should I be asking for extra support?
- What happens if my child needs accommodations?
- When does an IEP come into play?
- How does the school system actually handle special education?
This session is for you.
This is a free, introductory workshop designed specifically for parents of children kindergarten age and under who want a clearer understanding of how special education works in the early years. The session will be run by Sarah Hawn, an experienced educator and special education consultant who supports families navigating school systems every day.
This workshop will provide:
- A high-level overview of how special education works in the early years
- Basic terminology explained in plain language
- What typically happens in the early years
- When parents might consider asking questions or seeking support
- Space for general questions
This session is meant to provide a solid introduction and general orientation. For families seeking individualized guidance, Sarah offers private services beyond this event.
Why Attend Early?
For many families, the first signs of needing support show up before or during kindergarten.
Having a foundational understanding of:
- How support is identified
- What early intervention can look like
- How to approach conversations with educators
…can make the transition into school feel far less overwhelming.
You don’t need to wait until there’s a “problem” to learn how the system works.
