Hi! I'm Carla
My husband and I have two little ones (with a third on the way), a dog, a crazy life and now, a play cafe.
The idea for the cafe came from sitting indoors on a (very) rainy week while visiting family in BC with my toddler and baby. There just didn’t seem to be anywhere to go outdoors, and trying to take them to a coffee shop or restaurant felt like more than I could handle. Then, we came across “kid cafes” and I just loved that I could treat myself and also spend actual quality time with both my kids without feeling like I was bothering others.
I knew right then that we needed something like that in Ottawa. I want to create a space where family is celebrated, and everyone in it feels special and connected. A place where parents can share the adventure of raising little humans and find their village along the way.
Westboro is a very special community in which to launch this concept. Not only is our community home to lots of families with young children, but it is a community that champions and supports small local businesses, with an appreciation for building our neighbourhood together.
It takes a village, and ours is coming together
After a few months since opening our doors, we are seeing the familiar faces start to come back. It has been such an honour and a joy to see our little community forming.
I tried SO many coffees to find the right match for Bean Bag
It had to be special, yet familiar. Inviting and inspiring all at the same time, and I found it! Que milagro.
